Princess Leia Senatorial Robes

This was one of the first full Star Wars costumes I made. I followed Jen Eyre’s tutorial for the dress, which was incredibly helpful. I sewed my belt from faux leather and cut my own plates for it out of sheets of hobby aluminum. They are attached with conches from Tandy Leather and the belt fastens with four heavy duty snaps at the back. It was the first full project I did with knit fabric and it did wonders at the time for helping me feel more comfortable working with that kind of material.
