Kleya Marki
Andor
Kleya’s shop dress is an elegantly tailored coat and skirt over a white undershirt. It seems simple at first but the beauty and difficulty in this costume lies in the techniques required to make something look so simple yet at home within Star Wars.
Coat
The coat has a shaped hem that comes to a point at just about the belly button. it has princess seams in the front and back with a boatneck yoke in the front. There is an invisible zipper in the back that is hidden by the boatneck yoke piece over the back of the shoulders. The top of that back yoke laps over the front yoke, with both meeting at the intersection of the front seam in the sleeve.
The sleeves are bell-shaped with the front of the sleeve falling just above the elbow and the back falling just below. I am guessing they are two piece sleeves as that is very common in tailored coats. The sleeves and the back yoke piece are lined in white. The hem of the coat continues after an obtuse angled corner at the side seams and appears to have a very gentle curve. There is a vent in the center back that extends up to the fullest part of the hips/rear.
Skirt
Under the coat she wears a high-waisted, tailored skirt. It is fitted enough that I think it is safe to infer there are waist darts in both the front and back. The back of the skirt has 2 flaps that come down a little further than the coat and appear to be sewn into the back center seam but not the side seams. The hem falls just above her boots and has a back vent almost up to the “flaps.”
Undershirt
She wears a fitted white mock-turtleneck under her coat. The sleeves are a little longer than 3/4 length. The neckline is higher in the back and tapers down to a “V” in the front, landing just a little above the yoke of the coat. There are also vertical seams into the neckline on both sides halfway between the shoulder seams and center front and between the shoulder seams in center back. There is a center front seam and the shirt closes with an invisible zipper at center back. There are no visible collar seams.
Hair
Elizabeth is an utter rockstar and posted BTS photos of getting her hair done. They used her natural hair, center parted the front and mercilessly teased it for volume before rolling it inward along the crown. The back is twisted into a knot bun at the crown level in back.
